4000 Islands

Si Phan Don means four thousand Islands, and is an unique river archipelago situated in the Mekong River near the Cambodian border. It is a place to unwind and experience traditional river-side village life. Here you can truly embark on a different rhythm of life.

4000 Islands or Si Phan Don is a collection of islands in the Khong district of Champasak province near the Cambodian border. Only 33 islands are actually inhabited, while some of the smaller ones are submerged during the rainy season. The main islands are, by size: Don Khong, Don Som, Don Det, and Don Khon.
